What is an “Alberta CVIP Inspection”?

J & W Mechanical Fleet Services Inc. is a member of a system of private owned and operated heavy-duty repair facilities and are accredited by the Vehicle Safety Section to conduct assessments under the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program in Alberta. Registered owners are accountable for safeguarding that each bus, truck, light truck or trailer owned by them obtains the required CVIP inspection.

Trucks, truck-tractors, light trucks, trailers, and semi-trailers with a combined weight of 11,794 kilograms must be reviewed annually. As well, all registered buses designed to carry more than 10 passengers, including the driver, must be inspected semi-annually.
